ABOUT US
About Focus in Progress
Focus in Progress is about finding realistic ways to work with an easily distracted brain rather than constantly fighting against it.
This site follows the process of testing different ideas, tools, routines and approaches to focus, procrastination and getting things done. Some will work. Some probably won’t. The aim is to figure out what actually helps in everyday life and share what I learn along the way.
Why I Started Focus in Progress
There is no shortage of productivity advice telling us to plan better, concentrate harder or simply be more disciplined.
But when your attention does not always cooperate, that advice can feel much easier to read than to actually use.
Focus in Progress was created to explore a different question:
What can we change about the way we work so that focusing becomes easier?
Rather than pretending there is one perfect system, we want to experiment with different approaches and gradually build a collection of ideas that are practical, flexible and genuinely useful.
What You’ll Find Here
Focus in Progress covers topics such as:
- Focus and attention
- Procrastination
- Productivity systems
- ADHD-friendly ways of working
- Digital tools and apps
- Habits and routines
- Experiments with different focus techniques
- What works, what doesn’t and why
Our goal is not to become perfectly productive.
It is to make progress.
An Ongoing Experiment
A big part of Focus in Progress is experimentation.
Instead of assuming that a productivity method works because somebody says it should, we want to try things, observe what happens and share the results.
That could mean testing a new planning system, changing the way a workspace is organised, trying an app, experimenting with shorter focus sessions or looking at why certain approaches fail.
Over time, those experiments should help build a clearer picture of what makes focusing easier — and what makes it harder.
Follow the Progress
Focus in Progress is exactly what the name suggests: a work in progress.
The site will grow alongside the things we learn, test and create.
If you are also trying to understand your attention, reduce procrastination or find better ways to get things done, you are welcome to follow along.
